On the cusp of adulthood, Mathilde struggles with the feeling of not being enough. Quite confident, determined, alive. Questioning her place in the world, she hides away in her suburban home. Until the day she comes across a report about the Embassy, a disused hotel in Montreal converted into a reception center for refugees threatened with expulsion. Mathilde goes there the next day to offer her services as a volunteer.
