In Grade 9, Rafael has known for a long time that he has autism. This difference, however, never prevented him from leading a relatively normal life. Enough to spend a night away from home during a snow school? Not sure... Fortunately, he has the whole school year to prepare.
Rafael also takes steps to obtain custody of a service dog. Thanks to the Canine Help Program, Rafael will earn a lot more than a dog: he will make a new friend and have great experiences.
Tout ce que je raconte ici, ce sont mes parents qui me l’ont dit il y a quelques années, lorsqu’ils m’ont expliqué c’était quoi l’autisme. Et que j’étais autiste, par le fait même.
Aujourd’hui, à presque 14 ans, j’aimerais ça, moi aussi, avoir une blonde, chiller avec ma gang au skatepark, être invité aux partys, en organiser, tiens, pourquoi pas! Être normal, quoi. Même si j’ai tendance à dénigrer ceux qui le sont. C’est paradoxal, non? Mais je n’ai aucune chance que ça arrive, tout ça.
