Every morning, Loujain remembers her dream of flying to the field where a million sunflowers grow. She has wings, but where she lives, girls aren't allowed to fly. Thanks to her determination and the complicity of her family, Loujain will realize her dream, and, at the same time, will inspire other young girls to follow in her footsteps.
This moving and poetic story is inspired by the real life of Loujain AlHathloul, Nobel Peace Prize nominee who successfully campaigned to change laws in Saudi Arabia banning women from driving cars.
The original version, Loujain dreams of sunflowers, won the 2022 American Middle East Book Award (Youth Album category), awarded to books aimed at children and young adults that contribute significantly to the understanding of the Middle East.
