In a village in rural India, Latika, a courageous and determined girl, takes advantage of the arrival of a government official to try to make one of her dreams come true: to build public toilets that would allow her to attend school, even after puberty.
This free-verse novel features a strong heroine and very sensitively exposes the effects of lack of sanitation on the lives of women in some parts of the world.
