For hundreds of years, horses have lived in the wild on the small island of Sable off the coast of Nova Scotia. These horses gallop freely, but their life is not easy on this small piece of land where there is little food in winter. In 1960, the Canadian government decided to slaughter the horses and turn them into dog meat for “humanitarian reasons.” Angry children from across Canada sent letters of protest to the prime minister. Will they succeed in saving the wild horses? Inspired by a true story, this epistolary tale blends real events with fictional elements to create a docufiction.
