French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi makes a spectacular tour of the United States to raise funds that will allow him to complete the future Statue of Liberty. But several incidents target the statue and even Bartholdi directly. Lucky Luke is assigned to escort the Frenchman to Paris. It is a cultural shock for the cowboy who, not content with crossing the Atlantic for the first time, discovers the splendor of the City of Lights, and the way of life of its natives, the Parisians.
