Born in Montreal, Oscar Peterson went on to become a very renowned jazz pianist. But in the 1930s he was just a young boy who loved to play the trumpet and make music with his siblings.
Unfortunately, even before he was ten, Oscar was diagnosed with tuberculosis. He recovered from it, but his weakened lungs no longer allowed him to play his trumpet. He was then forced to give up the instrument he adored and opted for the piano in order to satisfy his passion for music.
