toujours plus verte chez le voisin
s’entêtait du matin au soir
à tondre son jardin

Oh ! l’insulte était de taille

Pelouse vient du latin pilosus, qui signifie «couvert de poils», lui-même issu de pilus, «poil». Ce dernier est à l’origine d’une grande famille de mots, allant de pelage à épiler en passant par peluche et même horripiler. Eh oui, ce verbe se rapporte à la réaction qui fait hérisser les poils!
